The technology of integrated fish farming and poultry
The production of fish in integration with breeding waterfowl and agricultural production in the greenhouse (Aquaponics) fish ponds favorable small-scale fish farming,as it reduces the cost of production of commodity fish, poultry, vegetables and herbs.
The best option of doing fish farming on private land (in small reservoirs) is the integration of fish farming with other agricultural production — crop and poultry farming. The most interesting such forms of combined farming, fish farming and waterfowl; fish and vegetables; fish and flowers.
The yield from 1 ha of pond in the climatic zone of the Riga region:
1. Duck meat 1.5 m 300pcs first batch of 300 PCs and second shipment total for the season 600 PCs ducks average weighed 2.5 kg. of Ducks grown for meat before the onset of juvenile moult in 60-70 days of age.
2. If instead of the ducks are geese, then the output of the goose meat will amount to 1.4 t, average linkage geese 4 kg.
3. Fish 1.8 t:
— Carp will receive 2800 PCs, average linkage 400, the total to 1.1 T.
— Silver carp – 2000 PCs, average sample of 350 g. total – 700 kg.

It is scheduled to increase production of fish and poultry due to the increase of the area under ponds up to 20-30 Ha.
Technology integration is the following:
Reclamation effect is achieved in the ponds because not only destroyed reeds, reed Mace and reeds on a pond, and terrestrial vegetation. Eating soft underwater and floating vegetation and hard vegetation, waterfowl is a good mechanic of the fishponds.
Waterfowl is not a competitor in the diet for carp, trout, sturgeon, eel, tench.
Reduced feed efficiency when feeding fish. Not require fertilizers for ponds, as bird droppings makes.
Reduced the amount of feed for the ducks compared to floor maintenance. Free-range summer bird supplies food itself is up to 70% from demanded norm.
The quality of poultry meat, cultivated in ponds, higher than the outdoor aspects of bird fleshy, has little fat.
Ponds are destroyed in the enemies and competitors of fish, beetles, tadpoles, larvae of dragonflies, etc. and also intermediate hosts for many diseases — molluscs and worms.

Cultivation of agricultural products in a greenhouse, does not require fertilizers and irrigation.
Greenhouse acquires a thermal inertia, due to the presence of water from the pond. There are no sharp temperature fluctuations in the greenhouse.
The traditional technology of pond fish farming has the main disadvantage, is its multi-stage, i.e. the process of fish farming consists of a number of successive stages. Implementation of technological operations within each stage be carried out in specialized ponds. Each stage ends with a descent of the ponds. Thus, in the process of growing fish repeatedly transplanted: from rearing in wintering, wintering in feeding. Transplanting inevitably caused stress in fish, leading to reduced growth and increased waste. Harvesting of the pond and transplanting is a labor — intensive operation, requiring much labor. Thus, the traditional technology of growing fish in ponds is energy intensive and resource-intensive form of fish culture.
One option low-cost technology is the formation of natural fodder base and increase of efficiency of its use.
I am a supporter of integration: joint cultivation of most different fish species and different age groups of fishes (mixed fish landing). The larger the species diversity of hydrobionts, the more stable the ecosystem of the pond. Mixed planting — planting different age fish of one species leads to the most efficient use of food resources of the pond. For example, small fish eat small plankton, big fish eat big plankton.

Growing fish in the pond it is advisable to conduct continuous technology. This is achieved by the implementation of potency fish growth, maximum production in the shortest terms with minimum costs.
The growing of fish and ducks is from late may to the first of October, as Riga geographically, it is 2 hatchery area. In October the water temperature drops and the fish goes for the winter in the same pond.
Coastal proposes a method of growing ducks, i.e. not on the rafts. In this method contain the ducks on the shore under a canopy, and the reservoir serves them for walking.
